Biological Data and Neural Models
The project uses neural connectivity data from the MaleCNS collaboration. This dataset includes measured connectivity, annotations, and soma locations for 165,122 neurons.
MaleCNS v1.0 Processing
The project modifies the original MaleCNS census by filtering for neurons with "Traced" status. It aggregates neuron-pair counts and stores them in a postsynaptic-row sparse matrix. The system normalizes incoming counts and applies trained gains and rate dynamics.
The video renderer uses actual MaleCNS neuron skeletons and neuropil meshes. It downsamples skeleton coordinates from nanometres to micrometres while preserving branch endpoints. Surface meshes undergo simplification for web display.

Simulation and Physics Engines
Flyhard integrates multiple simulation frameworks and physics libraries as installed dependencies rather than vendored source code.

FlyGym and NeuroMechFly
The project uses commit 38c8ec61034cd59bc5ba0de20688d4a3c0000d60 of FlyGym. Flyhard extends the base NeuroMechFly body with custom components:
- Supported seat and joint servos.
- Passive steering wheel and spring pedal.
- Forefoot grip constraints.

Vehicle Assets and Livery
The primary vehicle model is a Mini Cooper S 2021 derived from CARLA 0.9.16.
CARLA Vehicle Geometry
Original geometry and textures come from the Computer Vision Center (CVC), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The project uses the vehicle.mini.cooper_s_2021 blueprint. Modifications include:
- Advertising layout preparation.
- Web-optimized Blender materials.
- Compressed GLB/glTF inventory generation.

Sponsor Provenance
Sponsor artwork and branding belong to their respective owners. The project tracks these through a manifest system that maps sponsors to specific meshes and textures.
The relationship shows how sponsor data links to physical 3D model components.

Typography and Visuals
The project uses specific typefaces under the SIL Open Font License (OFL).
- Geist: Used for minimal video overlays.
- Barlow Condensed: Used for model lettering and vehicle branding.
