Frontend State Management in the Marketplace project handles the synchronization of user data, application configurations, and UI states across the Angular application. It ensures that components like the market header, side navigation, and authentication dialogs maintain a consistent view of the application's current data.
State Management Architecture
The project employs a reactive architecture using RxJS and the NgRx store to manage global and local states. This approach allows components to subscribe to data streams and update automatically when the underlying state changes.
Core Technologies
The following libraries provide the foundation for state handling:
| Library | Version | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
@ngrx/store | ^13.0.2 | Global state management container. |
rxjs | ^7.5.1 | Reactive programming for asynchronous data streams. |
@ngx-translate/core | ^14.0.0 | Management of internationalization (i18n) state. |
ngx-cookie-service | ^13.1.2 | Persistence of state across browser sessions. |

Data Flow Diagram
The diagram below illustrates how user interactions trigger state updates that propagate through the application.
The application uses the AsyncPipe to bind observable state directly to templates, reducing manual subscription management.

Managed State Categories
User Authentication State
The application tracks customer information to personalize the UI and control access to account features. The MarketHeaderComponent monitors _selectCustomerInfo$ to determine whether to show login buttons or the user's account menu.
| State Field | Description | Derived Source |
|---|---|---|
userName | The display name of the authenticated user. | en.json, market-header |
customerInfo | Object containing session-specific user details. | market-header.component.html |

Localization State
The application manages the active language and available translations through a centralized loader.
- The
TranslateModuleinitializes with a default locale from the environment. - The
HttpLoaderFactoryfetches translation files (e.g.,en.json). - Components subscribe to
_selectedLangto reflect the current language in the UI.

UI and Layout State
UI state tracks the visual configuration of the application, such as side navigation visibility and screen resolution changes.
The layout also responds to screen resolution payloads to conditionally render navigation menus based on screenSize.Large.

State Persistence and Interceptors
The application ensures state consistency between the frontend and backend using HTTP Interceptors.
- AuthInterceptor: Injects authentication tokens into outgoing requests to maintain session state on the server.
- CORS Configuration: The backend enables
credentials: trueand exposesSet-Cookieheaders to allow the frontend to manage session cookies.

The frontend state management system provides a reactive and centralized way to handle user data, localization, and UI preferences, ensuring a synchronized experience across the Marketplace platform.
