The Tribunal of Understanding Demo presents a multi-lens analytical system within the GestaltView portfolio. It allows you to submit a single question and receive distinct syntheses from seven different personas: Architect, Guardian, Mirror, Philosopher, Witness, Weaver, and Steward. The system emphasizes epistemic custody by presenting divergent viewpoints rather than a single averaged output.

System Architecture
The demo operates as a client-side application that interfaces with a live runtime through a secure proxy. While the persona framing logic resides in the browser, the core synthesis of responses is performed by the GestaltView runtime.
Component Interaction
- Client Interface: Manages persona selection, question input, and display of results.
- Signed Proxy: A serverless function that handles request signing and rate limiting.
- GestaltView Runtime: Receives the framed prompt and generates the intelligence-based response.
The diagram shows the request flow from user input to final rendering.

Persona Definitions
The Tribunal utilizes seven specific personas to evaluate input. Each persona applies a unique "lens" or framing to the user's question before it is sent to the runtime for synthesis.
| Persona | Role | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| The Architect | Strategy | Irreversible choices and lane selection. |
| The Guardian | Protection | Representing voices of those affected downstream. |
| The Mirror | Validation | Reflecting emotional truth and empathy. |
| The Philosopher | Meaning | Purpose and universal connections. |
| The Witness | Evidence | Distinguishing known evidence from inference. |
| The Weaver | Connection | Identifying weak threads in the topology of trust. |
| The Steward | Tending | Long-term maintenance and outcomes over seasons. |

Lens Implementation
Each persona is defined by a JavaScript object containing an id, name, role, and lens (a string containing the system directive).
{
id: "architect",
name: "The Architect",
role: "Strategy ยท which lane",
lens: "You are The Architect. Your truth: strategy is not a list of options โ it is the sequence of irreversible choices that make all the other choices possible..."
}

Processing Modes
The demo supports two primary interaction methods: single lens inquiry and full tribunal convening.
Single Lens Inquiry
You select one persona and submit a question. The client wraps the question in the specific persona's lens and sends a single request to the runtime via the proxy.

Convening the Full Tribunal
This mode triggers seven sequential runtime calls. To prevent tripping the runtime's circuit breaker or exceeding rate limits, the system staggers these calls with a 4-second delay between each persona.
The sequence diagram illustrates the staggered execution required for the multi-lens synthesis.

Technical Constraints and Security
The demo implements several protections and operational limits to maintain stability.
- Rate Limiting: The system limits requests to 10 per IP per minute. This is enforced by the serverless proxy and communicated to the UI to pace calls.
- Security: The
INSIGHT_BOT_SIGNING_SECRETis never exposed to the client. The proxy holds this secret to sign payloads before forwarding them to the production runtime. - Allowlisting: The demo requires the runtime to allowlist the "showcase" adapter and channel in the v2 payload headers.
- Ephemeral Data: The system does not store user inputs, localStorage, or cookies for visitor queries.

Future Evolution: The Council
The project roadmap includes evolving the Tribunal from a single-model system wearing seven masks into a multi-model council. In the next build, each seat in the Tribunal will be represented by a distinct AI model, allowing for genuine disagreement and deliberation rather than just varied framing from a single runtime voice.

The Tribunal of Understanding serves as a functional demo of GestaltView's ability to provide high-fidelity, contextual synthesis while maintaining human-in-the-loop epistemic custody. It bridges the gap between raw intelligence and operational strategy by grounding AI outputs in specific, documented embodiment profiles.
