The Online Music feature provides an integrated audio streaming service within the Endfield-Pomodoro application. It leverages the Meting API to fetch and play playlists from various online music platforms, such as NetEase Cloud Music, QQ Music, and Kugou. This system is designed to be a seamless part of the user's Pomodoro session, offering background music without needing to leave the application.
The feature is encapsulated within the AudioPlayer component, which allows users to switch between "online" and "local" audio sources. The online mode is configurable through the application's settings panel, where users can specify the music platform and playlist ID. The architecture is modular, separating data fetching, playback logic, and UI rendering into distinct hooks and components for maintainability and clarity.
Architecture Overview
The online music feature is composed of several interacting components and hooks. The App component manages the overall settings, which are passed down. The AudioPlayer component acts as a switch between local and online modes. When in online mode, it renders the MusicPlayer, which orchestrates the data fetching (useMusicData) and playback logic (useOnlinePlayer).
The diagram below illustrates the high-level architecture and data flow for the online music feature.
Configuration
The online music feature is configured via the application's settings panel and a default configuration file.
Default Configuration
A default music configuration is defined to ensure the player works out-of-the-box. This configuration specifies a default music platform and playlist ID.
| Parameter | Default Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
server | 'netease' | The music platform provider. |
type | 'playlist' | The type of content to fetch. |
id | '9094583817' | The ID of the playlist. |
DEFAULT_MUSIC_VOLUME | 0.5 | The default player volume (0.0 to 1.0). |

User Configuration
Users can override the default settings in the "SYSTEM CONFIG" view. The App.tsx component manages this state.
- Platform: A dropdown to select the music service (
netease, tencent, kugou, baidu, kuwo). - Type: A dropdown for the content type (currently only
playlistis supported). - ID: A text input for the playlist ID.
These settings are stored in a temporary state (tempMusicConfig) and applied to the main settings object only when the user clicks "APPLY CONFIG".

Data Fetching
Data fetching is handled by the useMusicData custom hook, which is responsible for communicating with the Meting API and parsing the response.
useMusicData Hook
This hook takes the music configuration (server, type, id) as input and returns the playlist (audioList), loading state, and any errors. It orchestrates the entire data fetching process, including API adapter selection, request execution with timeouts, and response parsing.

API Adapter Pattern
To handle potential API failures and provide redundancy, the system uses an API adapter pattern. src/utils/musicApiAdapters.ts defines an interface MusicAPIAdapter and provides multiple implementations that point to different Meting API endpoints.
The getAdapters function returns a prioritized list of these adapters. useMusicData iterates through this list, attempting to fetch data from each one until a request succeeds.
This diagram shows the data fetching flow, including the fallback mechanism if the primary API fails.

Data Structure
The fetched data is parsed into a standardized MusicTrack format.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
name | string | The name of the track. |
artist | string | The artist of the track. |
url | string | The direct URL for the audio stream. |
cover | string | The URL for the album cover image. |
lrc | string | The URL or content of the lyrics. |
theme | string (optional) | A theme color associated with the track. |

Playback Logic (useOnlinePlayer)
The useOnlinePlayer hook is the core of the music playback functionality. It manages an HTMLAudioElement instance and exposes state and controls to the UI.
Responsibilities
- Manages playback state:
isPlaying,isLoading,error. - Tracks progress:
currentTime,duration. - Handles user controls:
togglePlay, handleNext, handlePrev, seek. - Manages volume and play mode (
SEQUENCE,LOOP,RANDOM). - Automatically plays the next track upon completion, respecting the current play mode.
- Handles audio loading errors by retrying with the next track after a delay (
NEXT_TRACK_RETRY_DELAY_MS).

Player State Machine
The player transitions between several states, such as loading, playing, and paused, as shown in the diagram below.
This diagram illustrates the primary state transitions of the audio player managed by the useOnlinePlayer hook.

Play Modes
The player supports three distinct playback modes, which can be toggled by the user.
| Mode | Constant | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Sequence | PlayMode.SEQUENCE | Plays through the playlist in order and stops at the end. The handleNext function wraps around to the beginning. |
| Loop One | PlayMode.LOOP | Repeats the current track indefinitely. |
| Random | PlayMode.RANDOM | Plays a random track from the playlist after the current one finishes. |

UI Components
The user interacts with the online music feature through a set of React components.
-
AudioPlayer.tsx: A top-level component that contains the logic to switch between'local'and'online'audio sources. It rendersMusicPlayerwhen the source is'online'. It also handles network status changes, automatically switching to local mode if the connection is lost.
Sources: src/components/AudioPlayer.tsx:21-30, 77-80 -
MusicPlayer.tsx: This component acts as a controller that connects the data-fetching logic (useMusicData) with the playback logic (useOnlinePlayer). It passes the fetchedplaylistto the player hook and then passes the player's state and control functions down to the presentationalPlayerInterfacecomponent.

PlayerInterface.tsx: A purely presentational component responsible for rendering the music player UI, including the track name, artist, cover art, progress bar, and control buttons. It receives all its data and callbacks as props.

Summary
The Online Music (Meting Integration) feature is a well-structured and robust system for streaming music within the Endfield-Pomodoro application. It uses a modular architecture with custom hooks to separate concerns, a resilient API adapter pattern with fallbacks to ensure high availability, and a clean, configurable user interface. This feature significantly enhances the user experience by providing an integrated and customizable audio environment for focused work sessions.
