Backend Architecture
Relevant source files
The following files were used as context for generating this wiki page:Based on the provided source files, the project currently does not have an implemented or active backend. The frontend application operates using hardcoded data and mock data structures, with clear indications that backend integration is a future step. The file backend/server.py is empty, and backend/requirements.txt is also empty, confirming no backend server or dependencies are defined yet.
This document outlines the current data-sourcing strategy and the evidence pointing towards the planned, but not yet implemented, backend architecture.
Current State: Mock Data Architecture
The application's dynamic content is currently sourced from two places: data hardcoded directly within the LandingPage.jsx component and mock data structures defined in frontend/src/mock.js. The mock.js file explicitly states its purpose is to provide data that will be replaced by actual backend API calls later.

Data Flow
The current data flow is entirely client-side. When the LandingPage component renders, it uses either its own hardcoded content or data structures imported from mock.js to populate the UI. There are no network requests made to a backend server for data.
The diagram below illustrates the current client-side data flow.
Mock Data Structures
The frontend/src/mock.js file defines the shape of the data that the application expects. This serves as a contract for the future backend API. Key data structures include:
| Mock Object | Description |
|---|---|
mockCoachData | Contains information about the business coach, including bio and stats. |
mockServices | An array of service objects, each with a title, description, and results. |
mockTestimonials | An array of client testimonial objects, including name, role, and quote. |
mockContactForm | Defines the fields and structure for the contact form. |
mockFormSubmission | A mock async function that simulates submitting the contact form to an API. |

Evidence of Future Backend Integration
Several pieces of evidence in the codebase point to a planned backend integration.
API Client Dependency
The frontend/package.json file includes axios as a dependency. Axios is a popular HTTP client used for making API requests from the browser, indicating an intention to communicate with a backend server.

"axios": "^1.8.4",
...
},

Contact Form
The LandingPage.jsx component includes a contact form designed to capture user information. Currently, the form does not have a submission handler and does not perform any action. This form is a primary candidate for a future API endpoint to handle user inquiries.

Mock API Call
The frontend/src/mock.js file contains a mock function, mockFormSubmission, which simulates an API call. This function demonstrates the expected behavior of a future form submission process, including an asynchronous delay and a success response.
This sequence diagram shows the hypothetical flow for the contact form submission once the backend is implemented, based on the mockFormSubmission function.

Testing Protocol
The test_result.md file defines a data structure for tracking the status of development tasks, which includes a distinct backend section. This indicates that backend tasks are anticipated and will be tracked as part of the project's development and testing protocol.

Conclusion
The backend for the landing-emrgent project is currently in a planning or pre-development phase. The frontend is built with a clear separation of concerns, using mock data that defines the contract for the future API. The presence of the axios library, a fully-featured contact form, and mock submission logic in mock.js strongly suggest that the next phase of development will involve building a backend server to provide data persistence and handle business logic. The backend/server.py and backend/requirements.txt files are placeholders for this future work.
